If you are in a situation where you need to find a good deal on airplane fares for last minute travel, then it can sometimes be a challenging, if not impossible, task. And, there are many times during the year when you will be hard pressed to find a seat on a flight at the last minute regardless of price. Because of this, many travel experts suggest that booking early is the best way to assure that you will get from point A to point B.
In most cases, booking your air tickets as far in advance of your trip as possible is usually the best way to go for cheap airline tickets to your destination. When you secure your air tickets early, while there are still plenty of seats available, you will find that the airlines usually offer the cheapest airfares during this stage.
Waiting to book a flight until the last minute often means that there are very few seats left. When this happens, the airlines may charge a premium price for those seats that are left, especially during busy travel times.
But, even with that fact in mind, it should be understood that there are always special circumstances that arise that will get you a significant discount on airplane fares, even for those last minute flights. In order to be able to take advantage of these super deals, you will need to be able to make a snap decision and get to the airport very quickly.
One thing that is essential in obtaining great deals on those last minute flights is your ability to be flexible in your travel plans. If you want to save a lot of money on your tickets, then you must be flexible about the date and time of the flight, about the airline, about which airport you fly in and out of, and about how many stops you are willing to make en route to your destination. If you are willing to be inconvenienced by early morning or late night flights or by having a layover or having to change planes, then you will probably be able to enjoy the cheapest airfares even if you had to make your arrangements at the last minute.
When the airlines want to fill all of the seats on a plane quickly, they will drop their prices and will usually post these discount airfare prices on their website. These days, many airlines will offer these airfare deals only on their website, so it is important to monitor the website of the carrier you are considering.
Some airlines will send email alerts about reduced prices to frequent flyer program members or to others who have signed up for such notifications. Signing up for these alerts can give you an advantage and can save you the trouble of logging on many times a day when you are in need of finding the cheapest airfares.
In almost all cases of heavily discounted air tickets, there are greater restrictions on the tickets. It is important to be sure to read all of the fine print and the terms of discounted prices. Most discounted tickets are issued as non-refundable and non-transferable and can only be changed by paying a fee, which could outweigh the savings if a situation arises and you have to change the date of your flight. Many of these discount fares also have other limitations, such as requiring a stay over a weekend.
Special web discounted airplane fares are typically posted by the airlines on their website, in the middle of the week for flight dates for the upcoming weekend. When making your travel plans around discounted airline tickets on last minute flights, keep checking the airline website for last minute fare changes and have your bags ready and waiting so that you can take advantage of available deals as they come up.
It can be so frustrating trying to deal with the airlines via the phone or even the computer. Their websites are complicated and not very user friendly. It makes searching for airplane fares a tedious and hair pulling experience. You do not have to put up with this anymore. You will not have to spend an hour on the phone being transferred from one department to another. You can find your airplane tickets online and often pay a fraction of the cost the airlines would charge you. That means more money in your pocketbook. Are you ready to save money and frustration? At the top of your list of things to do in life should be a trip to Europe. For a bucket list item, it definitely qualifies. Personally experiencing the locations where so much of history has occurred is both fascinating and emotional. Every so often, however, you need to get your energy back.
Switzerland is a country nearly everyone visits when in Europe. When you are there, consider heading over to Gstaad. There you will find the Bellevue Spa, a classic spa that provides luxury and pampering on an unheard of level.
Those that stay at this hotel and spa will find that it is not quite like all the rest. Though it is every bit as luxurious as other spas in its class, this one will also set you at ease immediately. The architecture inside of the spa has been built to reach towards the heavens with wide open arms.
Imagine total relaxation. You slide back in your tub of hot mineral water and rose petals. You naturally look towards the ceiling and take in the sites. What sites? The evening sky in all its glory, of course.
Yes, the roof above the spa is transparent glass. It is formed in the shape of a pyramid and allows for you to lose yourself in the night sky. If you are lucky, you will be there on a day when it is snowing. The effect is immensely relaxing.
Rather than deck the rooms in heavy linens and silks, these rooms reflect wide open spaces filled with light. Again, ceilings inside of the rooms are pitched towards the heavens, which leave plenty of open air to stretch out in. Nestle into down filled comforters as you wrap yourself in sheer bliss for the night.
Upon awakening, enjoy your lavish breakfast poolside or take your cup of tea to the garden for a bit of reflection time. Of course, when you visit the Bellevue Spa you won’t want to miss out on all extensive spa services that this resort has to offer – after all, everyone can use a bit of relaxation.
As you walk through the spa entrance, take a moment to turn around and take a look. Now say goodbye to the outside world. It is time for leave it behind, focus on yourself and do some serious rejuvenating.
It is easy to say that Europe has some of the best spas and resorts in the world, but none of them encompass all the aspects of nature quite like the Bellevue Spa does. Even if you stay for just one night, this spa will be well worth the price.

When it comes to gondola rides in Venice, your choices are limitless. A ride can be something romantic shared by two, or it can be a fun filled excursion for groups of friends and family. Taking a gondola ride during the morning, afternoon or evening are all possibilities as well as whether the ride is short or long. Locations off the main stream and rides along the Grand Canal are also good choices, proving endless options abound.
A gondola ride can be caught at several different locations. Letting your hotel work out the details is a popular and easy way to catch a ride because they’ll find bargains for you or they may even include a gondola ride in your package. When traveling is required to get to your embarking point, the hotel can many times arrange this for you too.
The best places to board a gondola are at main tourist attractions such as Tronchetto, the Piazzale Roma and the Doge’s Palace located in the Piazza San Marco. Gondola ride locations are hard to spot in the city as it is simply a giant tourist melting pot.
In less populated areas near the secondary canals, you will find gondola rides offered by men at many of the pedestrian crossings. Although most are out to drum up business, others may not be so kind. Because of this, it’s wise to use caution before handing over money. On the other hand, less crowded areas may offer slightly less expensive rides saving you money in the long run.
The Grand Canal’s 2 mile stretch covers some of Venice’s spectacular sights such as the Campanile, the Basilica di San Marco and others. Prices here tend to be a bit higher than those a little more out of the way, so this is something to keep in mind before seeking a ride.
Ranging from $120 for a 40 minute ride to $220 for an hour ride, these prices are mandated by the city. Most vendors simply ignore these rates and charge there own, offering the opportunity to find lower prices when possible. However most times vendors will have a starting price of more than the city’s rates.
Price bargaining is normal and expected, but only to a sensible limit. Due to supply and demand of more tourists than available gondolas, don’t expect vendors to lowball their fares too much. To help lower prices, consider sharing a ride with up to 6 people.
The cost being too high for you while on vacation doesn’t mean fun can’t be had. Instead of trying to hassle a vendor for lower prices, consider engaging in the multiple different things to do in Venice that will work with your budget.
For those that do choose to ride a gondola, the experience is quite fun, whether with friends family or a loved one. A mixed romantic aspect is experienced due to thousands of people crowding the streets of the Grand Canal and watching you, being able to focus on the scenery and each other instead of the people takes some talent.

Everybody loves to find cheap airline tickets. There’s nothing better than taking a vacation and knowing that you have saved a good deal of money by shrewdly searching for the best airfare deals out there. Its always fun to boast about the cheap airfare you found too. Finding the best airfare deals these days is primarily a matter of doing some research, doing some comparative price shopping and being somewhat flexible with your travel plans.
Securing cheap tickets can open up opportunities for you and the family to get away and experience other parts of the world, without coming home and feeling like you put yourself into debt. Indeed, you can enjoy cheap vacations that are still fun, exciting and adventurous by finding those airfare deals and discount hotel reservations, and even car reservations if you plan on driving around the countryside.
Because of the cost of travel these days, it is important to find the cheapest airfares available because this expenditure makes up a large part of the vacation budget for most families. Trimming the price of the airfare by finding discount airline tickets can free up money that can be used for a special night on the town at your vacation destination or for extra activities and shopping.
When searching out cheap airline tickets, it is your flexibility in the day and time of day that you wish to depart that will give you the most options and ultimately the best discount. When people are on a very tight schedule and must depart on a specific day and at a certain time, they will more than likely end up paying for a full-price ticket. But, for those who are able to adjust their travel days and are willing to take “the red eye,” they can often end up reaping the rewards of low-cost air tickets.
One of the best ways to see how the day of your travel affects your ability to get cheap tickets is to visit the website of your favorite airline. Enter your ideal travels days in the fields that ask for your departing and returning flights. Check out the various fares that are shown and then repeat the process by changing just your departure date. See how that affects the price, then “play” with your return day. You will see how sometimes a small change in the day of your flight can make a big difference in the cost of air fare for your trip.
Also, be sure to check out how the time of day affects the ticking pricing. Early morning flights and those late night “red eye” flights are often the best choices for getting the cheapest tickets. However, some people assume those flights are always the cheapest and this is not always the case. Some people actually inconvenience themselves when they don’t have to by choosing “red eye” flights. Always compare the pricing of all the flight schedules for the day you want to fly.
Sometimes people are tempted to use travel agencies or depend on the online travel websites to find cheap airline tickets. But, air travel experts say that there is simply no way that any single source, whether a website, consolidator or agency can have the latest information on all discount airline tickets. So, as the consumer, it is up to you to shop around and do some digging to find the best airfare deals so you can maximize your vacation budget.
At $2 to the pound until quite recently London seemed like an expensive and crowded tourist option for many Americans, Europeans and Australians. But the credit crunch has seen to that and London is suddenly 20% cheaper. And now the summer is over the crowds have dissipated and London is left with world-class attractions and plenty of beds, seats and chairs for visitors.
Recommended London theatre
Right now there are a number of particularly good productions on stage in London. Whether you are interested in musicals or serious theatre there are in excess of 75 plays in production. However, as I know that many visitors in London are after a jolly show I have profiled three musicals below as well as a serious piece theatre which promises to be one of the most talked-about productions of the decade.
Billy Elliot. Based on the hit film released in 2000 about a boy growing-up in a grim Northern town during the 1985 Miner?s strike, but with a passion and talent for ballet. Music by Sir Elton John is heart-warming and the direction is by Stephen Daldry. This is the original stage production which has been running since 2005 and has spawned many productions in countries like Australia, Canada and Japan. But the original show is still the best.
The trend of Hollywood or TV stars treading the boards on the West End continues appropriately enough with the premiere of film-to-stage show Rain Man which debuts at London’s Apollo Theatre on the 19th of September. Rain Man has been adapted for the stage by Dan Gordon and tells the same story as the film starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman for which Hoffman won an Oscar. The story revolves around the discovery by car salesman Charlie that he has an older brother, Raymond, who had been institutionalised since he was a kid. Ray is an autistic savant with all the social difficulties the condition entails. However, he has a genius for numbers which turns in handy when Charlie’s business is in trouble. The play stars Hollywood actor Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down, The Black Dahlia) and well-known London thespian Adam Godley.
Hamlet. Shakespeare?s signature tragedy is on at the edgy Donmar Warehouse with Jude Law as Hamlet and direction by Kenneth Banagh. With this quality of talent the production promises to be impossible to miss. The King of Denmark, Hamlet?s father, is murdered and Prince Hamlet is overcome with grief and resolves to avenge his father?s death. The consequences for Hamlet, his family and his Kingdom are devastating.
Before the film it was a London show. Mamma Mia! may have been a screen sensation but Londoners have been dancing in the aisles to ABBA music for years and we continue to flock to this sensational stage-show in droves. This is a unique production because it is so engaging. You will be drawn into the show and end up on your feet belting out the familiar tunes. Better than a win at the races for lifting your spirits.
After the show why not head to Edgware Road. At the Marble Arch end is a row of about 30 Lebanese restaurants each more authentic than the next. The Arabian style strip stays open extra late so you will never go hungry no matter how late you get out. This is London with a twist.
Getting to the West End by public transport is a piece of cake. It is served by the Central Line and the Piccadilly line. The Transport for London website is the easiest source of tube and bus information if you have on line access in London.

There are many great attractions in North Wales and Llandudno is a great base from which to explore them. There are many daily coach tours available from within Llandudno to the most popular attractions and this is an ideal way if you like to be guided and enjoy the company of others. If setting out on your own then you’ll really need your own transport to get around as public transport in North Wales isn’t great. However you choose to explore North Wales Llandudno is an ideal base with a great choice of accommodation and local facilities.
One of Llandudno’s closest attractions is Conwy Castle which is located just 5 miles from Llandudno. Conwy Castle was built during the 13th century by the English during the conflicts of the time with the local Welsh population. The castle is a great example of medieval architecture and is open most days throughout the year and offers terrific views of the surrounding area and town of Conwy.
For a great family day out the Welsh Mountain Zoo is located in the nearby town of Colwyn Bay. The Welsh Mountain Zoo is the only wildlife zoo in North Wales where you can walk around at your own pace and enjoy the shows. The zoo has a children’s play area where they can burn off some energy and an onsite restuarant when you want refreshements.
Llandudno is ideally situated for a day out to Mount Snowdon, the tallest mountain in England and Wales. An ideal way to reach the summit is via the Snowdon Mountain Railway which takes you from the base station in the town of Llanberis to the summit. The railway is a great journey that takes approximately 4 hours as a round trip and offers spectacular views on clear days of the mountains of North Wales.
Back on the ground in Llanberis another great attraction is the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre. The centre was opened to allow visitors to learn about this modern engineering feat of a power station in a mountain. Entrance to the visitor centre is free and once inside you can pay a small fee to take a tour into the mountain and see the huge pumps operating and learn how the power station works.
Nearer to Llandudno is Bodnant Garden which is located in the Conwy valley about 10 miles south of Llandudno. The garden covers 80 acres of both formal and informal gardens which you can walk around at your leisure. Of special note is the Italiante terraces in the formal gardens and the Dell in the valley with its waterfalls and bridges.
Further south near the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is the Llechwedd Slate Caverns. This huge underground labyrinth shows how slate became one of North Wales biggest industries during the 19th century. Visitors can descend deep in the caverns by train and learn how this great industry provided slate all across the world.
Also located in Blaenau Ffestiniog is the Ffestiniog Railway which was once the old method of carrying slate to the docks before distribution around the world. In the 1940’s the railway was closed as the slate industry declined but it was reopened in the 1950’s by a group of volunteers and now serves as one of the regions most popular tourist attraxtions. Take a ride on the train to Porthmadog through the stunning Welsh countryside.

Amsterdam got its name when a dam was built on the River Amstel during the thirteenth century. Popular belief is that The Hague is the capital of The Netherlands when in fact it is Amsterdam.
Amsterdam has earned a justifiable reputation as the ideal city break location, although with so much to see and do, a weekend might not be long enough to justify the trip. With such a huge variety of prices, there are cheap Amsterdam hotels to suit all testes and pockets. A very enjoyable way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Amsterdam is to cruise along the canals. There are 1,281 bridges spanning the four main canals and many cruise companies who offer all sorts of themed journeys around what is the city’s intricate water system. Many cruises are available throughout the year. As a suggestion, reserve a day to take in a selection from the many museums in Amsterdam and buy a ticket on the museum boat where you will be taken in style to a selection of the popular museums. One stop is that of Rembrandts Museum at the Jodenbreestraat. Here you will be able to admire the original collection of 250 etchings and a number of sketches and drawings by the famed Dutch master Rembrandt. In addition to Rembrandt’s house, you will cruise the canal waters over to the house of Anne Frank. The house is presently a museum, but was once the home of the Frank family. In fear of capture by the invading German army, the Frank family spent years in hiding. The daughter, Anne, wrote her engrossing diary during the two years of hiding. The house (her home) has been conserved by the Anne Frank Foundation and was opened as a museum 45 years ago.
The famous Rijksmuseum contains the country’s biggest collection of art and history including dolls houses, Asian art, paintings and the history of Netherlands exhibition. The main event at the museum is that of the famed works from the country’s wonderful Golden Age with artists such as Vermeer, Steen and Rembrandt.
Should you be searching for a never to be forgotten art experience, located halfway between the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum is that of the Van Gogh museum. A wonderfully detailed exhibition of Vincent Van Gogh’s life is exhibited within the walls of this landmark and you will enjoy over 200 of his paintings. In addition to his paintings there are hundreds of drawings together with amazing amounts of written documentation by the commonly misunderstood painter. Totally unmissable for fans of modern art, impressionist fans and lovers of Holland!
The Amsterdam red light district is famous the World over. It is located in the area of the Oude Kerk region where many of the city’s most impressive buildings are also located. The Red Light area runs between Warmoesstraat and Nieumakt square. Stag Nights are a popular event in the De Wallen area, particularly attracted here by the reputation for window prostitution and sex shops. This area is especially interesting because it is where people come to be themselves. It is a vibrant energetic area where you will find a fine cup of coffee, people of every race and creed, a good selection of shops and a huge range of places to eat.
Touring in the area of Amsterdam can be very enjoyable. The roads are wide and modern and Amsterdam can be considered an ideal centre for touring into the adjoining regions and countries. Rates for Amsterdam car hire are very economical and you can make substantial savings by making an online booking.
Dam Square is the place to return to time after time being a tourist hotspot generally and a great place to enjoy people watching and street entertainment whilst sipping a well earned cappuccino! There is such a wealth of visitor attractions in Amsterdam that visiting just a few of them could set a family back a small fortune. The City offers its treasured tourists the Amsterdam Card saving you lots of money!. Introduced by the Amsterdam Tourist Board, it allows you to admission to all of the leading museums as well as a free canal cruise and discounts to many shops and restaurants. Furthermore, the Amsterdam Card offers free travel throughout the city. You can obtain an Amsterdam Card for 24, 48 or 72 hours. A 24-hour card costs EUR 31 (GBP 25), 48 hours EUR 41 (GBP 33) or 72 hours EUR 51 (GBP 41) and can be obtained from Tourist Information (VVV).
In the middle of the frequently all too hectic city centre can be found a peaceful pocket of green space nicknamed ‘the town’s pride and joy’. Amsterdam’s particularly beautiful botanical gardens, Hortus have been on this spot for more than 400 years and are maintained with pride by its devoted keepers. A haven of quietness for the times when life in the city gets a bit too fraught!
Should you are visiting Amsterdam in August, you will enjoy the colourful ‘Gay Parade’. It takes place every August and consists of a stream of wildly decorated and brightly painted boats. Its a great camera opportunity unmissable and is best enjoyed by watching from any of the bridges that cross the Prinsengracht Canal.

For a family with children, few vacations could be more desirable than a trip to Walt Disney World, a park famous for enchanting children with its rides, cartoon characters and other amazing attractions. But Disney World is now a park that has features to interest parents and all grown-ups as well as children, and a well-planned Disney vacation can truly be a great time for the whole family.
Ways To Plan Your Disney Trip
One of the easiest ways to plan a Disney World getaway is to work with a travel agent who has experience with family vacations and family-themed parks. If ease and convenience are high on your list of priorities, you will want to look for an all-inclusive package that provides admission to the parks, hotel accommodations, meals and any transportation that you might need. Depending on how much money you are willing to spend, you might be able to find accommodations within the park itself. Planning ahead will be crucial for these kinds of hotel reservations, and you should make sure that your travel dates are final well in advance. If staying in the park is not an option, there are many opportunities to find hotel rooms or suites near Disney World. Should you find yourself staying in a hotel near the park, you might have access to shuttle service to the park. However, it is important to find out before you finalize your vacation plans whether or not shuttle service or public transportation will be available so that you can make arrangements for a rental car if that will be necessary.
In some cases, you might be able to find a Disney vacation package that also includes airfare for your family. In this case, pre-planning is very important because many flights to popular vacation destinations fill quickly. For families where one or more of the parents or other accompanying adults have a limited amount of vacation time off from work, it will be important to determine the vacation time far enough in advance to ensure that you can get airplane tickets for your optimal travel dates.
Attractions At The Disney Parks
The famous images of Disney World, including children posing for pictures with performers costumed as popular Disney cartoon characters, now share the stage with some of the best amenities and most fantastic rides in the country. Of course, there are still pic opportunities, rides, games and merchandise associated with Disney’s world-famous movies and characters. But straightaway guests can also visit an Animal Park, the Hollywood Studios Park and even a water park.
If you only have a few days for your Disney vacation, you will want to savor every moment. Planning ahead of time can help you be convinced that you will make the most of your trip. Information about Disney’s parks are available online, and you should spend some time getting ready for your vacation by finding out what attractions are available, what the costs are and how to organize your trip so that you won’t waste any of your time or money.
