Since it’s a gateway into the Costa Blanca, Alicante is a perfect touring base. Containing a pleasing melange of old and recent culture and traditions, Alicante is situated within the popular tourist region of the Costa Blanca. Visitors to Alicante enjoy a warm sunny climate, a selection of the best beaches Spain has to offer as well as the most remarkable of Moorish architecture.
Situated on the coast between the resorts of Benidorm and Elche, Alicante city sits in the shadow of its mountain-topped castle. The city and its surrounding landscape are scattered with churches with the most recognised of them all being the Iglesia de Santa Maria. This is the oldest church in the city and was built between the 14th and 16th centuries being at one time a mosque. The City’s St Nicholas Cathedral was built in the seventeenth century in honour of Alicante’s patron saint and is thus one of the most important buildings in the region.
Alicante has lots of ancient buildings to please historians and sightseers and can be seen all around the city with columns and statues adding interest to a number of once uninspiring sites. Keeping a keen watch across Alicante Bay, the Castillo de Santa Barbara is known as one of the largest medieval fortresses in Europe. Easily accessed by road or by lift (elevator) from the Paseo Maritimo, the castle has unsurpassed views of the amazing surrounding area. In addition to the drama the Castillo has on offer, Alicante has more architectural treasures including the nineteenth century bullring and the Provincial Gallery (formerly the Gavina Palace). All of the Alicante attractions are readily accessible using an Alicante Airport hire car. Online booking of your hire car would be expected to produce big savings together with ensuring that your requested vehicle is actually available when you arrive at the airport.
Alicante is the perfect venue to come to enjoy life and the main reason tourists come back each year. With such a diverse range of accomodation on offer, there’s a great selection of of luxury Alicante hotels to suit every taste and pocket. The beaches here consist of wonderful golden sand and consist of both accessible and secluded bays perfect for private sunbathing. Make your way to Albufereta Beach where there is excellent range of water sports. It is a quiet spot that is relatively unspoilt by the tourist masses.
The perfect place for an evening stroll is provided by the Playa del Postiguet. You will join local inhabitants along this enchanting seaside walk - it’s a perfect location for bringing the day to a close. Formerly known as the Port serving Madrid, Alicante Harbour combines sailing with fishing and is the ideal place to come for the top fish restaurants around. Alicante harbour offers a perfect venue for activity day and night. Here is where visitors come to eat wonderfully fresh, delicious fish, learn sailing and finish the day off with a spot of clubbing into the early hours.
Nobody likes a knees up as much as the locals and visitors of Alicante! Here you will find a celebration of one type or another happening throughout the year, no matter what time of the year you choose to visit. One of the more sombre of festivals in the Costa Blanca is the Easter Procession. Dressed in black and carrying lighted candles, an effigy of Jesus is paraded on a cross around the streets. Each November, in order to honour the Patron Saint Crist del Bon Encert, every town has an individual fiesta. Don’t be surprised to find that shops are closed all day, every day as the town closes down for this wonderful combination of singing, dancing and firework displays. On a lighter note, one of the most renowned local fiestas is the International Puppet Festival.

The “Flavian Amphitheater”, also known as the Colosseum, is capable of seating 55,000 spectators. Deadly gladiatorial and wild animals fights were staged for free by the emperor and wealthy citizens for the masses.
Commissioned by the Emperor Vespasian between 70 and 72 AD, it was completed in 80 AD by his son Domitian. It was built on a marshy site of a lake near Nero’s enormous palace, there was a very tall statue (a colossus) of Nero nearby, from which legend says the Colosseum’s name was originated from. Later it was destroyed in the great fire of Rome.
The Colosseum was designed in such a clever way that it has been said that most today’s stadiums, and structures alike have been inspired by the ideas introduced in the Colosseum’s building structure, even in modern times. The Colosseum could be evacuated in less than in five minutes.
One of the most incredible parts of the Colosseum was its cooling system. It was roofed using a canvas covered by a structure made of ropes, with a hole in the midlle to provide a breeze for the romans attending the game.
Another nifty feature the Colosseum had was a “vomitoria” - a passageway that opens into a row of seats from below or behind. The vomitoria of the Colosseum in Rome were designed so that the massive venue could fill in 15 minutes. (There were 80 entrances at ground level, 76 for ordinary spectators and 4 for the imperial family.) A true magnificent architectural development for its time. It’s a also a building of great beauty and design.
During the Middle Ages, the Colosseum was converted into a fortress and the marble was burned used to make quicklime. During the Renaissance period, but mostly in the Baroque age, the ruling Roman families (from which many Popes of the Catholic Church came from) used it as a source of marble for the construction of St. Peters Basilica you see today.
The area itself is today also one of the most beautiful and lively places in Rome. You can find typical restaurants, pubs, stylish and modern cafes and wine bars.

Now why anyone would want to live in Death Valley is beyond me but here but Albert Mussey Johnson decided to built his vacation home in Death Valley. It was supposedly built with the money from the gold mine that he had backed but in fact, there was no gold mine and so it was certainly not built with funds from one.
Walter Scott had gotten Mr. Johnson to invest in a mine that didn’t exist. It wasn’t a bad deal for Mr. Scott until Mr. Johnson decided to come and see the mine for himself. There was no mine. Pretty hard to keep excited about investing in a mine that doesn’t exist.
Mr. Johnson and his wife liked Walter Scott, even after the knowledge that there was no mine. Mr. Johnson became enamored by Death Valley and with the encouragement of his wife built a vacation retreat. Although the retreat was actually named Death Valley Ranch it became known as Scotty’s Castle.
The alure of seeing the retreat built by the “richest gold miner in California” was a huge attraction to the rich and famous. They came to see just what that type of money could buy. Mr. Johnson never told that there was no mine. It would have taken some of the charm away from the retreat to know it was built with money he had earned in other ventures and not the mine.
There are guided tours available at the castle for those of you wanting to visit. With interactive displays, living history exhibits and all inside the house it will be a treat to see. The tours are available daily on the hour.
The second tour available for you while you are at the castle is of the underground area. It shows you the technology used to provide electricity to the castle. There is a 1/4 mile tunnel system that runs under the castle that you will be able to see.
The National Park Service is in charge of the castle now. It uses some of the underground area to preserve Scotty’s Castle. Technology from the past is working with technology of today to keep the castle in good condition.

Flooded with chronicle, art and culture, Florence is a city that’s very hard to do justice to in a single day. A inspect to the Uffizi museum only could easily eat a day or two into any route.
If you’re blessed sufficient to visit Florence for the first time, but unfortunate enough to have only a single day to relish the delights of this city, you will need to ensure that you have a project.
The first thing you’ll require before you start your go is a map of the city. The centre of Florence is pretty packed, so the greatest way to experience it, without wasted a thing is by foot. If you don’t have a map or a guide and you’re not the type that delights aimless ranging, make your first stop of the day one of the tourist offices where you can pick up a free map of Florence.
Starting off in the essential Piazza, you’ll easy spot the best-known Duomo, with its magnificent terracotta colorful cupola. If you are there early sufficient to keep off the crews and feel you can face the 463 steps You are commended starting your tour by climbing up into dome for a stunning view of the city. The Duomo is likely the most typical feature of Florence’s skyline and is the result of years of work spanning six centuries.
Once you’ve received in the view, see your breath with a easygoing stroll about the streets surrounding the Duomo, and then make a walk to the nearby Piazza della Signoria. Here you’ll find a special outdoor gallery of sculptures, accepting Neptune’s Fountain and a copy of the famous Statue of David. You’ll also find the Palazzo Vecchio (the Old Palace) here. This was builded in the early 14th century and is still used today for its particular purpose, as a Town Hall.
Merely beside the Palazzo you’ll find out the Uffizi museum, with its unrivalled aggregation of Renaissance art. If you’re an art lover, you don’t want to miss the Uffizi, but it’s not something that can be easy covered in a short 2-hour visit!
Alongside the Uffizi you’ll find the River Arno, with its many bridges over. If you take a good turn you’ll get at the Ponte Vecchio, the famed bridge that houses a multitude of goldsmiths and jewellery shops, with its medieval workshops beetling the bridge over. The bridge itself was built in 1345 and is the only bridge on the Arno that wasn’t unsaved in World War II.
Once you’ve frustrated the bridge, you’ll arrive in the area called Oltrano, which literally stands for Over the Arno. Here you’ll find the Palazzo Pitti a large 16th century castle. The palace was earlier home to the Medici family who governed Florence almost endlessly between 1434 and 1743 and it now houses different most-valuable museums and galleries.
You may want to complete your day by making a relaxing stroll in the Boboli gardens, which can be accessed through the Palazzo Pitti. These gardens were laid out in 1550 for the Medici a year after they bought the Palazzo Pitti and were spread to the public in 1766. Many parts of the gardens give grand vistas over Florence and make a welcome retreat after a day of walking round the city.
If you have the time, it’s worth giving to view the Ponte Vecchio at sunset, followed by a walk along the bridge over after dusk, when the lights on the bridge speculate on the River Arno and everything seems nearly supernatural.
Finally, don’t forget to take a break from your sightseeing stop for lunch or a drink in a pavement caf, take some time to soak up the atmosphere and do a spot of people watching.

Timeshare No Comments
According to TimeSharePilgrim.com more and more people have started making money through vacation timeshares by selling the same to prospects. As in any industry, the timeshare world has had its share of “timeshare scammers”. A new timeshare scam is when the scammer calls and tells the owner that a real estate agent has a buyer for the owner’s timeshare. Then they try to get the owner to pay for their service upfront. So, just be aware that scam artists out there are doing this kind of thing. Here’s a really good reason you should know what status your points carry: You want to be able to trade with another unit - when and where you want to vacation. You don’t want to have to go to the developer and purchase additional points at a higher fee. Timeshare is the territory of each resort across the world.
Most travel companies, offer tour packages to vacation destinations throughout the world. The fixed plans are better than floating plans because fixed plans allow the owner to have better control over the timeshare.
The companies promote tour packages by arranging for short presentations and end hoping people to sign for their timeshare scheme. Many owners of timeshares don’t prefer to place their timeshares up for an auction or an open bidding because they fear that they would loss too much money on their shares in such dealings. TimeSharePilgrim.com also points out that Timeshare family packages are available in discounts offering great deals on a variety of resorts in multiple locations.
Tips For Selling Timeshare:
Assuming you are interested in buying a timeshare from a current owner take note of this little tip: A great secret weapon for timeshare buyers is to wait until the ‘eleventh hour’ to give a timeshare seller an offer. The idea behind selling timeshare is obviously to make money more than the actual price involved in buying it. For those who want to benefit from selling their timeshares, few tips are as follows:
1.It’s a good idea to keep in mind that at some point during the ownership of a timeshare, the owners may consider liquidating their unit. Just remember that, dispite promises from the original salespeople at the time of purchase, often times, timeshares resell for twenty to fifty per cent of the original purchase value. Because so much money is typically spent to market the sell of timeshares, its probly a good idea for owners to hire a real estate agent specializing in timeshare purchase and sale. There are sellers, who try to sell timeshares for more the price than its actual value. They end with the compulsion for lowering the price. Most of the good auction sites have followed eBay’s lead of offering a feedback system. This is helpful when thinking about buying a timeshare online. Based on the market and the company, sellers may sell timeshares 20-30 per cent what the resort sells. Before purchasing a timeshare from any developer, make sure, the sales price is in writing. Do not let them include additional items, ie: extra maintainance fees that you don’t know about. Make sure you see EVERYTHING in writing. Line by line. Keep in mind, the sales people are usually trying to get you to purchase based on an emotiona sale. So, you need to make your purchaser based on reason, not emotion. Don’t be swayed by emotion…be smart and wise.
2. Choose proper company: Of the many timeshare companies, some are fraud. Do proper research on companies before advertising the timeshare. Check for companies, which offer to sell timeshares within specified time. Most companies claim for charge less than $50 for a particular ad. This is false. Because the timeshare resale market is so huge, there are companies that specialize in this type of brokerage. These companies are easy to locate, especially in popular resort areas where timehare resorts are abundant. Before buying a timeshare from any real estate agent, buyers need to study the real estate market. Otherwise, there are chances for the buyer to fall in a trap. For instance, if the timeshare were surrounded by legal hassles, it would be difficult for the buyer to sell it later.
3. Get proper exposure: Select a company, which exposes the timeshare to prospective buyers. This is because it has to be brought to the notice of people willing to buy. Be aware of frauds that claim high exposure in the market. Do this by searching for keywords related to timeshares in Google. Go through the rankings of the company on particular keywords to get a clear-cut picture of its influence in the timeshare sale market.
If you are in the timeshare market you may have asked yourself, “What Timeshare info do I need to know and what do I need to know about selling or purchasing a timeshare?” Be sure to visit Thomas Sondheim’s musings about Timeshares over at his blog. Thomas Sondheim had many questions about Timeshare ownership several years ago when he became associated with the Timeshares industry. It wasn’t until Thomas realized the great benefits of Timeshares, that he became a fan of this unique real estate vacation opportunity. Saving some cash when visiting to Disney World might seem to be a contradiction, but with a little smart planning and preparation, visitors can have an enjoyable visit to Florida without running up a huge credit card debt.
The Walt Disney World Resort is absolutely huge, covering almost 47 total miles near Orlando, Florida. There are four gigantic theme parks, Epcot, MGM, the Animal Kingdom, and the Magic Kingdom. With so many things to see, visitors almost always spend at least a week just to take it all in. Disney World has constructed more than a dozen hotels just to house visitors to the area.
Obviously, Disney executives recognize that folks are looking for different things when going to Orlando. For this reason, they have hotels that fit every budget. Resorts are separated into Value, Moderate, and Deluxe levels. Value is sort of the Disney way of saying inexpensive, but you will not be disappointed, as the Disney Value hotels are nice and comfortable. Moderate resorts are one step up, promising bigger rooms and full-service, sit down dining on the property.
Deluxe resorts at Disney are top-of-the-line accommodations built to please and placate any visitor. Some of the hotels such as the Grand Floridian and Polynesian are on the monorail, so you can easily ride to Epcot without using a rental car or riding a bus. Guest accommodations are much larger, and the Disney World experience is of course magical.
How does one decide what to hotel to choose? Well would you rather use your money on gifts or indulge your family with the best, remember you are on holiday? Value options like the Disney World Pop Century Hotel can cost somewhere from $80 to $120 per night, while top end Hotel start from $250 and go higher from there. As you can see, if you multiply that by 6 to 9 days, you could end up spending thousands extra just for a nicer room.
The choice belongs to the visitor, but whatever you pick, tourists can be sure Disney World employees will do their best to be sure you and your family have a great time on your trip away from home.
