Weather and Clothing;

* Autumn, which ranges from September to early November, is probably the best time to travel to China, because the temperature would be fine with just occasional rains.

* Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanchang and Tianjing are the so called, “four furnaces” of China during summer which should be refrained from traveling.

* You have to make sure that you bring with you clothing appropriate for China’s four seasons: Spring from March to May, Summer from June to August, Autumn from September to November, and Winter from January to February.

* Summer is also rainy season in China, a raincoat is essential during this time as umbrellas are usually defenseless against winds.

* Avoid wearing revealing clothing around the Chinese, who are a conservative people.

* Since women are not allowed to wear skirts when visiting Chinese temples, they should remember to bring slacks.

What to Bring into China;

* Because clothing is very cheap in China, clothing is one of the things you should not have to worry about when going to China. Because of this, you can pack your bags light and buy the rest of your wardrobe on the go! Chinese clothing also makes pretty good souvenirs.

* The Chinese are very particular with Christianity and Christian Catechism, so it is recommended to take no more than one bible into China.

* A few prohibited materials in China aside from the usual narcotics and deadly weapons are food, micro-organisms, biological products, waste materials, portions of human body, blood and blood products and animals that may spread diseases to humans.

* Any items which may include but are not limited to printed materials, films and tapes that pose a threat to China’s economy, politics, culture and ethics are strictly prohibited.

When you arrive in China;

* To make sure that you didn’t bring in any harmful diseases with you, health checks would be the first that you will undergo before you are allowed out of the airport.

Photography in China;

* It will be best not to take pictures at aerodromes, military and political facilities in China.

* Please be advised that pictures should never be taken from an airplane or any type of aircraft.

* Before taking pictures of residents or their possessions, always respect them, and ask permission first.

* You are not allowed to take pictures in most temples, Palaces, grottoes and museums. To prevent any unnecessary trouble, be aware and attentive of signs that prohibit the taking of pictures. However, there are some establishments that will allow you to take pictures for a small fee.
