Here is a list of tips to help you plan and execute your air trip without mishaps. These tips are a useful checklist for anybody traveling by air.

Check your passport expiry date. Ideally it needs to be valid for at least six months beyond your travel return date. Some countries actually require that your passport be valid for at least six months into the future.

Decide what you will be taking onboard as hand luggage and what you will be consigning separately. Do this several days before you plan to travel as it may affect your luggage plans and even the method of booking your flight. Make sure you know what luggage restrictions may apply.

Confirm the flight dates and times for all parts of your trip to make sure that it matches up with your ticket information, hotel bookings and so on.

Make a photocopy of your air travel itinerary and your passport photo page, and leave copies with your workplace and family members or friends. This is a very useful contingency in case you suffer a mishap or in case you need to be contacted in an emergency. Include phone numbers and addresses of where you can be contacted.

When traveling internationally make sure that you have any visas that may be required. Verify if there are business or tourist visas and which one best suits the purpose of your travel.

Make a photocopy of your passport, visas and other essential travel information. Pack this copy in your luggage in case the original documents are stolen or lost.

Bring a copy of your medical history with you. This could simply involve listing any medical conditions, blood type, etc. If you are allergic to any medications, include this information. When traveling internationally try to have these items listed in the local language (if possible).

If traveling abroad here is a great tip: prepare a list of key phrases written in the local language such as thank you, please, where is, help, how much, and so on. You just need a small piece of paper showing a dozen or so key phrases.

Thieves and opportunists also travel by air. Therefore do not assume that the airline cabin is a theft-free zone. Never leave valuables on or near your airline seat – always take them with you when leaving your seat.

Airports are places where opportunists and thieves go with the intention of stealing. You should constantly be aware of your surroundings while in the airport.

For tips relating to the air trip itself, see Air Travel Safety Secrets (contact details given below). This free ebook reveals extraordinary safety information that airlines don’t tell you. I strongly recommend this free ebook to anybody traveling by air.

When you have a spare weekend with no work to worry about, do you stay at home? Thousands of people in this situation regularly take advantage of the cheap flights with the low cost airlines and jet away for a hotel break.

Nowadays there are more and more places to visit and from more and more airports around the UK and Ireland. Previously unpopular or uneconomical airports have now expanded with the arrival of flights on cheap airline flights from airports all over Europe

The choice of destinations is now larger than they have ever been and you can jet off cheaply by booking a bargain flight then getting some accommodation online and jetting off for the weekend.

Travelling overseas by air does have its disadvantages which is more apparent if you do not have much time. Not all of the flights available have suitable flight times for a weekend break. If your flight leaves in the early afternoon the chances are that the return flight will be late morning or around noon depending on the duration of the flight. This could mean by the time you arrive at your hotel it could be early evening already. If your return flight is around noon by the time you get to the airport you might only have time for breakfast in the hotel before you leave for the airport.

A lot of people get caught up in the sound of an overseas short break by air because it sounds more impressive than a weekend break in the UK. Perhaps you are worried about the weather and think it would be better in an overseas destination.

You could still jet off somewhere in the UK or Ireland to some excellent hotel break destinations which has a greater number of flight options. You might be able to fly at an earlier time and return late in the evening giving you the maximum time at your destination not at the airport.

There are lots of exciting cities to visit in the UK and Ireland such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, London, Dublin, Manchester and many more. Each destination have it’s own unique attractions.

Why not spend more time away at a UK destination than in the airport. You do not have to take the plane you could drive or take the train. More and more hotels offer more than just a room for the night. You could even book a murder mystery weekend or visit a theme park or spend the day on the Orient Express. There are lots of different hotel break options available.

- On slack seasons due to lesser demand, airline fares, hotel tariff, even car hire charges are comparatively lower during this time– chalk out your vacations at this time. It is possible for you to get almost 50% discount if you reserve a room during slag season, hence call and ask the hotel if they provide off season concessions and inquire when will the reduction be in force.

- A number of hotels offer discounts to specific individuals like honeymooners students, Senior citizens, military officials, etc. To save you money do inquire about these special cut rates and their particulars.

- On occasions hotels and resorts permit up to 2 children for a double-bed room given that the children are inside the age limit allowed by the hotel. If you are holidaying with your folks do not forget to ask whether your children can live in free of cost.

- You can browse budget holiday websites for hotel bookings and car hire if you are not very finicky with hotel settings. They will do the bargain on your behalf and it is quite certain that you wont over-spend.

- If one make use of certain facilities for more than a week several inns and guest houses and also car-at-call companies offer free days. Inquire about this kind of extra services if you are preparing for a long holiday.

- A number of hotels have additional prices and surcharges that are not declared in room tariffs and afterwards, these rates suddenly come up during departure. Confirm with the hotel that the room charges are the only thing you are paying for. Prior to your booking, do make it clear, and if at the time of checking-out you suddenly find the final cash memo with prices that you were not informed of, refuse to pay them.

- If you possess an expiring frequent Fliers miles card, or you would just want to dispose of one, request the hotel if they can exchange the miles with any of their booking schemes. It is a wise idea to redeem frequent Flier miles for hotel accommodation.

- Every so often, hotels offer free airport pick-up which you can use as haggling device. request for a free pickup when bargaining so you will get a little more even though you pay the full charge.

- Charges have a tendency to get high as the best time of the year approaches. So if you are thinking of traveling during the peak season, every time call in early.

- At times, regular fees are lower than weekend rates, or the contrary. Inquire the hotel by hand or ask a travel agent, if they offer these, accordingly you can plan your tour during these periods and will be able to benefit from these concessions.

- All the time ask for an authentication number when you book a room, so that the hotel cannot say that they did not get your booking.

We have evidence that settlements on iBiza date back over 3000 years. In 654 BC the Carthaginians discovered the island and founded iBiza town making it one of the earliest towns in Europe.

The Carthaginians used iBiza to manufacture salt by allowing the sea to evaporate in large salt pans. You can see the salt pans they built in Salinas. iBiza became an important trading center with a large harbor and big city walls.

The Carthaginians also used iBiza to bury there dead. It’s thought they chose the island as there were no wild animals to dig up the corpses.

The Romans conquered iBiza in 123 B.C. Evidence of the Roman occupation can still be seen in Santa Eulalia, where the old Roman bridge crosses the now dried-up river at the entrance to the town.

After the Romans, between the 5th and 9th centuries A.D. Ibiza was invaded and conquered by the Vandals, the Barbarians and the Byzantines.

The Arabs came in the 9th century A.D. and stayed for almost 500 years. The Arabic influence can still be felt strongly today in many customs, such as the construction of the houses, traditional costumes and the island dialect ‘Ibicenco’.

iBiza was conquered by the Catalans on the 8th August, 1235. They demolished down the Arab mosque to build the Cathedral on its foundations. It’s still standing. The villages of the island were renamed after Christian Saints, and the church building began The oldest churches can be found in Santa Eulalia, San Miguel, Sant Jordi and San Antonio.

iBiza has had more than its fair share of invaders and the invasions continue in the form of stag and hen parties in San Antonio every weekend during the summer months. I think I’d prefer the Vandals.

London, the capital city of England in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, is one of the top vacation destinations in Europe. One of the main reasons for the popularity of London is the fact that it has so many historically important buildings and landmarks as well as a number of world class tourist attractions. While many of the top places to visit are either directly or indirectly related to the Royal Family of Great Britain the ancient traditions and historical institutions add to the unique appeal of this wonderfully diverse city.

Throughout the history of the United Kingdom it would seem that most of the important events have occurred in London. Obviously, with the King or Queen living in the city and the Houses of Parliament being there, most of the important political events happened in London. However the city also has played an important role in the cultural development of Great Britain and this was extremely apparent during the lively period which has become known as the “Swinging Sixties”. With important events such as the “Ally Pally Pothead Rally” taking place and the most famous bands basing themselves in the city, London has, for many decades, acted as the musical capital of England and the United Kingdom.

Abbey Road is one of the most famous streets in the world. This famous street in London is well known as the cover of a Beatles album, Abbey Road. The Beatles (John, Paul, George & Ringo) are photographed walking the road (on the pedestrian crossing). Paul McCartney is shown walking barefoot and John Lennon is wearing his white suit.

The design of the album cover was resonsible for a lot of fans feeling angry and upset. The cover was supposedly evidence that Paul had died (in a car crash). The most obvious clue was that he was barefoot. He also had his right foot forward not his left like the other band members. Another two clues were that he had his eyes closed and was holding his cigarette in his right hand not his left (Paul played guitar with his left hand). Other clues are evident in the album cover but are more obscure.

The famed album acquired its name after the London street where it was recorded. The EMI studios were where the Beatles recorded a lot of their songs, which George Martin produced. The studios changed their name to Abbey Road Studios in 1970 when the band finished recording an album which later proved to be their last recording together.

The astonishing success the Beatles found is still as strong as ever today. This is evident every year when fans from all over the world make the grand tour to London to visit Abbey Road. The fans, both old and new come to have their photographs taken, like their idols, strolling across the pedestrian crossing. This can be problematic, as the fans have to wait for a break in the traffic, to be able to do this.

Abbey Road studios are housed in a large Georgian townhouse in the reputable area of St John’s Wood, London. The house next door, which is used as a place to rest ones head, is also the property of EMI. Musicians use the house whilst they are recording or mastering their recordings in the studios next door. Some musicians only stay for a short while, unlike the fab four who spent 129 days at Abbey Road, in 1967, recording their immortal album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

When planning a visit to the Uk, Abbey Road is often found amongst the lists of landmarks to visit. So whilst on holiday here you might like to have your photograph taken at the world famous studios or emulate the Beatles and have your photograph taken whilst walking across the road.

So, next time you visit London, consider taking one of the many tours of the city. Some tours of London focus on those places associated with famous musicians and the swinging sixties while others take in the typical tourist attractions of Buckingham Palace and the likes. Remember that there are many incredible places to visit that are well off the well beaten tourist map of London and, with only a little investigation, you will find yourself discovering hidden London.
