Orlando is generally assumed to have taken its name in 1836 from a soldier named Orlando Reeves who died during the war against the Seminole Indian tribe. Its relatively warm and humid climate is due to it situated at about 106 feet above sea level.

Orlando experiences two seasons annually. This seasons are the warm and cool seasons. The warm season is a combination of heat and rain which normally lasts from May until October. Come November until the month of March, rainfall becomes frequently less and temperature becomes cooler. Orlando is prone to wildfire hazards during its driest season on the months of December until May.

Among its well known attractions include Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney was said to have raised the economic status of Orlando since its formation back in 1965.
