Cork is a great place to visit and has ample accommodation from the more basic family owned bed and breakfast to the more luxurious five star Hayfield Manor Hotel which is only a ten minutes stroll into the city centre. Getting direct flights from Newcastle to Cork is easy by simply booking with Jet2 airlines who operate regular flights from Newcastle to Cork.
Cork got its name from the Irish work corcach which when translated means marshy place. Cork today is very different and is now the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland. The Rive Lee flows through the city and joins the Lough Mahon and helps create one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Cork is still a major seaport and has lots of quays and docks
Originally founded by St Finbarr some time in the sixth century its charter was granted in 1185 by King John. Cork became an important trading port with the Scandinavians however this also attracted unwanted visitors such as Vikings and Norsemen who attacked Cork. The city was once fully walled and some of the wall remains today.
Weather in Cork is generally mild all year with no excessive extremes in Winter or in Summer. The climate is generally mild, moist and can be changeable. Cork has a lot of foggy days and despite this is still the sunniest city in Ireland with an average of almost four hours of sunshine in the summer months.
There are lots of places to visit whilst visiting Cork and a lot of architectural buildings of note. The most famous building in Cork is the church tower of Shandon, which dominates the northern side of the city. St Patrick’s Street is a main street, which has been renovated and is now a pedestrian friendly route through the main shopping area. Don’t forget to visit Blarney Castle, Charles Fort and perhaps a visit to the greyhound Stadium.
Cork has the usual quota of fast food restaurants you would see in most cities around the world. There is also a good selection of mid price family owned ones offering good value food at a good price. For those wanting something a bit more special you will not be disappointed with the choice. There are plenty of pubs and bars and nightlife to keep anyone happy.

The Costa Blanca, located in Spain, is one of the most popular areas of travel. There are people who come from all over the world to see this city. It happens to be located on the Mediterranean Sea and is known for beautiful, white, sandy beaches. You will find that the most popular time to travel is in the summertime, however, it is beautiful all year around, and it has some of the best climate temperatures all year long.
When it comes to planning your trip, you will want to consider the other cities. It is nice to travel from city to city. Torrevieja, Benidorm, and Alicante all have a great night life, many theme parks, and history can be found throughout this region. However, don’t forget that the beaches are a must-go. There are also other small towns like Denia and Altea that will offer you a quiet place to relax and enjoy the serenity. You will want to consider all of the things that are available to you when you begin to choose your destination and plan your trip to Spain.
Most people who are traveling to this area of Spain will arrive at the Alicante airport. You will find that this is one of the largest airports in the country and you will also find that there are many discounts on airline tickets to Alicante, since it is such a popular choice. You will find that there are many deals that you will be able to choice from when it comes to traveling for vacation purposes. Keep in mind that the summertime is one of the most popular times to travel to the area, next to spring.
You will want to get prepared, by exchanging some of your money. You will also find that airlines don’t offer any snacks and you will need to continuously check your bags when it comes to a layover. You will not be able to find a direct flight to this area, so you may have to connect in many places. You will find that once you arrive to Spain and the Costa Blanca area, you will need to have some means of travel. That means that a rental car is needed.
You can’t allow yourself to just rely on public transportation, because you will miss a lot of scenery and beautiful hot spots because you have to wait for a bus. You will also find that there is a lot of time wasted when you use the local bus system. Course, you can use the train system when it comes to traveling from city to city, because you will be able to see all the beauty and not waste a lot of time going from place to place. You will also find that the larger cities do offer public transportation to the other local cities, but you will waste more time on a bus then if you were to just rent a car.

Altea is a city which is located 15km to the north of Benidorm. This city is one of the few that has kept the image of a traditional Spanish fishing village. They have successfully carved out a tourist industry without having to say goodbye to their natural beauty.
This village is much more relaxed than the other larger cities. The weather is much milder in the summer and winter. This is because the hills which surround the city make the temperature much more comfortable during both the summer and the winter.
Finding Travel and Accommodation in Altea
Most tourists travelling to Altea fly into Alicante airport, this is located about half an hour away from the village by car. You can hire a car from the airport for convenience. You can also get a number of buses and trains from Alicante to Altea.
There is a nice mountainous area just outside of the main village, this have some amazing views. Real estate is becoming very desirable in these areas. There are many new hotels and apartments springing up in these locations.
Altea Attractions
I personally think that Altea is one of the most beautiful areas in all of Spain. It’s very tranquil and relaxing. The writer proves to be a draw for Spanish and international tourists, especially writers and painters. Some of these may stay for a short period, others live there permanently. Most will stay in the area which is around the old church.
The church is fairly famous, it’s known as the Nuestra Senora DelConsuelo. This was built in 1910 and is based on Mediterranean architecture. All of the tiles are hand painted. The blue dome can be seen from quite some distance and is somewhat of a landmark.
Not far from the beach and harbor you will find a number of independent stores which are greet for shopping. Most of these stores open at 10:00am and close at 9:00pm. Many of these stores are closed for a siesta from 2:00pm until 4:00, or 5:00pm. Larger stores typically stay open throughout the day.
The best way to see Altea close up is to take a walking tour. This will allow you to see the town and mountain areas in all its glory. The mountain walking tours in Altea can be very relaxing as you get to enjoy nature. You could also take a private tour of many of the trails which go around the village. There are even all inclusive tours which are available for a few days up to a week.
From Easter to September there is a wonderful craft market. This can be found near the harbor area. There are many local crafts offered at these events and you can find a number of beautiful hand crafted items at quite a reasonable price.
Because of the mild weather conditions this region is well known for its golfing vacations. There is a golf club which is great for visitors to the region.
If you want to have a more active night life then you should take a trip to Benidorm. This is a larger city and can be reached for a day trip. There are plenty of water parks, night clubs and theme parks here.

Did you know that there are different types of hotels to choose from when taking a break? For one thing you could check out the latest boutique hotel trends. You actually have a choice of different hotel suites to enjoy. Conventional hotel advertising has brainwashed many people into a perception of what a hotel should look and feel like.
Right, so you can choose to stay in an inn such as The Holladay house which you can find in Virginia. Or perhaps you would like to stay at a well known brand chain hotel. But there is another type of hotel hovering just below the radar. If you want something that has the relaxed atmosphere of a homely bed and breakfast, and the amenities of a big hotel, then you could choose a stay at a boutique hotel.
Boutique hotels have had mixed fortunes since the emergence of affordable hotel accomodation. What has helped them remain popular is the homely atmosphere. Quite often the buildings are historic, and this gives them an elevated air of gravitas. Boutiques strive for individuality, and are usually designed around a theme. You will see a lot of local fashion and culture references, with art and local hand crafts on display. Colour schemes and decor have usually been designed to compliment the building and theme and reflect boutique hotel resort trends.
The resort surroundings of boutique hotels can be incorporated into the theme. Santa Fe has a boutique that displays a lot of culture associated with Native American Indians. The Anasazi Inn displays handmade rugs, pottery and throws.
Other hotels choose to base their theme around a time in history. New Orleans hotels are based around the 19th Century. Over in San Francisco’s Hotel Union Square, it is decorated according to the Prohibition era. You will find black granite, cream and travertine tiles.
You won’t just find these hotels in the United States. Such is the level of service and style provided by boutique hotel owners, their popularity is immense. Boutique hotels can be found in Paris, Tokyo, Seville and even Russia. You can even get funding to start a hotel from specialized boutique hotel lenders.
Boutiques on average have about 25-50 rooms. You can also find some with 8 rooms and also others with over 150. They generaly are much smaller than chain hotels. This enables the staff to offer a higher level of customer service to its guests.
Since there’s a limited amount of space in each boutique hotel, it’s important to get your reservation in immediately. Waiting until you’re about to leave is sure not going to get you a room at the boutique hotel of your choice. In fact, it’s unlikely you will get a boutique room anywhere in your vacation/business city if there’s a business conference coming up. If you can, call ahead a month or more to reserve your room.
Many boutique hotels regulary update the qualiy of their suites. Little but nice extras such as improved room furnishings can really bring a smile to your face. You can choose between a deluxe or standard room, complete with high speed wireless internet connections, and a private bath. You will also find at larger boutiques the same amenities as a brand name hotels. Large restaurants, spa’s and fitness suites, and of course bars. If you are on a company business trip, you can book a room for meetings.
If you are tired of staying in those chain hotels, boutique hotels are an alternative. This alternative may cost a little more but is well worth the money you spend. Remember this saying: you pay for what you get. If you want a unique experience, boutique hotels will give you that and more.

Although the city of Aberdeen is now closely associated with the oil industry the city has an interesting and rather long history. Evidence shows that people have inhabited the area for some 8,000 years or more. Known as the “Granite City”, and also as the “Silver City” or the “Silver City with the Golden Sands” Aberdeen is the third largest city in the nation of Scotland.
Aberdeen has a fascinating selection of museums and art galleries and other cultural tourist attractions but most people visit the city to indulge in the lively vibrant nightlife. For those looking for such entertainment Aberdeen has various classy restaurants and bistros, wild nightclubs, numerous cafes and bars and a varied selection of festivals. For the younger visitor there is the incredibly popular 2 mile beach with the usual selection of fairground rides and other seaside attractions.
Of special note is the House of Fun which is situated along the Beach Esplanade. The House of Fun has a whole host of various fun areas over two floors including popular driving games and other video games, simulators, the foam factory, the family amusement arcade and much, much more.
Obviously the House of Fun is great for kids but there is also much to keep the adults entertained. For those who like to gamble there is a cash arcade and bingo. There are also places to buy gifts and souvenirs but if you want your entertainment a little more adult then there are also various places to eat with such features as large screen tv and even live music.
Aberdeen has plenty to keep the keen shopper entertained with a number of malls and markets. The main shopping area can be found at Union Street but, if you enjoy shopping, you really need to visit the Bon Accord St Nicholas Shopping Centre which has a large number of shops on two levels. Other noteworthy shopping areas are The Academy and The Mall shopping centres.
Aberdeen’s history includes many stories of sporting excellence.
Aberdeen, like many other places in Scotland, has a long association with the game of golf. Way back in 1780 the world’s sixth oldest golf club was founded, the “Society of Golfers at Aberdeen”. In 1903 the club was awarded Royal status and was renamed the “Royal Aberdeen Golf Club” (having changed it’s name to Aberdeen Golf Club in 1815) and the club has two golf courses, the Silverburn Course and the Championship Links at Balgownie. There are six public golf courses in Aberdeen; Hazlehead (3 courses, 2 x 18-hole, 1 x 9-hole Pitch and Putt), Balnagask Golf Course (2 courses 1 x 18-hole, 1 x 6-hole) and Auchmill Golf Course.
Aberdeen has some excellent sports facilities for various sports but soccer has for more than the last 100 years been one of the most popular. In 1903 the city’s main soccer team, Aberdeen FC, was formed which has had some noteworthy successes, especially while Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson CBE was the manager.

While there are certainly a large number of folk who, when visiting a city, like to stay in familiar surroundings and several of the large hotel chains offer accommodation that varies little from city to city making them ideal for such people. However there are many, many people who prefer something a little more intimate and something a little bit different and such folk often choose to stay in a local guest house or small local hotel. For the last few decades there has been an increase in the number of boutique hotels in London and many other popular city destinations. The following article explains a little about boutique hotels and describes what you should expect from such accommodation.
As you may have gathered from the above paragraph boutique hotels are usually far more intimate than larger establishments. A boutique hotel is usually one which has a great deal of character offering something a little out of the ordinary. Originating in North America these types of hotels are often smaller, usually privately run, luxurious hotels offering a highly personalized service not often found in the, much larger, branded hotels and motels.
Roughly three decades ago the culture and style of society was rather different and many liked to fashion a specific lifestyle for themselves. More and more people began to demand hotel accommodation which would fit more closely to their chosen lifestyle. The hotels which where redesigned to meet this demand became known as design hotels or lifestyle hotels.
There are a number of hotels which claim that they were the first hotel be become a boutique hotel. One such hotel is the Morgans Hotel in New York which was owned by a famous hotelier Ian Schrager. Schrager had commissioned Andre Putman to design the hotel which opened in 1984 and is usually credited as being the very first of the many boutique hotels we see today. Another hotel with a reasonable claim to the title is the Vintage Court hotel in San Francisco (part of the Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group Inc.) which opened in 1983.
While most of the hotels belonging to the larger chains offer all of the most modern luxuries in often rather uniform buildings boutique hotels are really rather different. It is extremely common for these hotels to be designed around a particular theme with unique aspects you would not normally see in an ordinary hotel. For instance the Church Street Hotel in London UK has a rich Spanish-American theme with numerous examples of art to match the interesting Cubano style and such things as mexican tile work.
London, like many of the world’s largest cities, has a large number of boutique hotels. Best Western have many hotels in the city including the boutique hotel, Shaftesbury Kensington, which has recently been refurbished and offers a huge range of services including broadband Internet access from all rooms. The hotel has all of the amenities of the largest hotels, such as bars, restaurants, conference facilities and a fitness room. The sudden and rapid growth in interest in boutique hotels has led to a little confusion over the true definition of the term and to blur things a little more several large corporations have established boutique hotels to grab a little of this expanding market.
One of the best boutique hotels in London is found opposite the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace at 41 Buckingham Palace Road. The Red Carnation, 41 Hotel is only a few minutes walk from many of London’s finest tourist attractions and only a short distance from Buckingham Palace itself. If you are visiting London you may want to stay here if only to be able to say to friends that you stayed at that address.
While the word boutique may well be used extensively now and there are usually many to choose from the very nature of them dictates that each will be considerably different than the other. They seem to be appearing virtually everywhere these days and there is even a boutique hotel on the Isle of Harris in the extremely remote Outer Hebrides. Now that you have a greater understanding of what makes a boutique a hotel boutique then you may wish to consider booking into one next time you visit somewhere new.

If you want to get some discount options when you are seeking for hotel rooms, you may need to consider booking it online. There are a lot of websites which can let you book your hotel rooms online. However, not all these websites are the same and you should be very carefully when you are booking.
You may not want to book via a site which does not let you cancel your booking or change the dates. This is because in some cases you may need to cancel your trip. And of course you will also need to cancel your booking. It will be a lot more flexible if you are allowed to change the dates or cancel the booking.
You only make sure that you know the prices. You have to know if the prices stated on the website are per room or not. You will also need to know if there will be any tax associated with booking the hotel room.
Another important thing you want to know is whether meals will be included. Some hotel packages will include breakfast while some may even include dinner. In some cases there can be some deduction in price if you do not need the meals to be included.
You will probably find some photos of the hotels, as well as the rooms in the website. If no such information is provided on the site, it will be a better option for you to book via another site.
It will even be better if there can be some kind of commenting system on the site. You should try to read the comments of the hotel so that you will know if it is a good hotel or not.
It will be a good idea if you can pay with systems like paypal, epassporte and 2CO. It will be a lot safer and protect you against credit card frauds and scams.
It is very common for people to book hotel rooms online. Yet you should try to take the above advices so that you can book your hotel room safely online. And you will certainly have a wonderful trip if you can book the hotel rooms with a very good deal.
